The Personal Growth
Manifesto By Garrett Davis
As individuals concerned
with personal growth, we think often of our futures, yet
find value in staying in the present moment. We have
dreams, ambitions, goals, and most importantly, well
thought out plans. We are forward thinking people. To us,
complacency is simply not an option, and we refuse to be
bound by the limitations of a finite mind-set. We’ve
accomplished much in our lives, and we enjoy taking a
moment to appreciate all of the people, places, things
and events that have helped up along the way. We realize
that from seeming misfortunes spring valuable life
lessons. We always learn from our mistakes and do
everything we can to avoid making the same one twice. We
know nothing of boredom, as our curiosity and enthusiasm
keeps us continuously interested. Though we sometimes
blithely wish for more hours in the day, we know that our
time management skills account for our efficacy. We are
audacious goal setters who refuse to be bound by popular
limitations. We think about what we can do, not about
what we can’t do. We think things out thoroughly, and
also specialize in quick decision-making. As effective as
we are at planning, we’re even better at sticking to a
plan, so long as it’s a good one. We’re quick to make
necessary revisions. We seek the company of positive,
like-minded individuals, and realize that the others
can’t bring us down so long as we refuse to permit them
too. Our optimism acts like a powerful magnet in
attracting the people, places, things and events that
will be of value to us. We know that our mind-set is of
the utmost importance, and we continuously strive to keep
it in the best shape possible. We routinely perform the
mental maintenance required to keep ourselves positive in
our thoughts. We realize that a positive thought is
infinitely more powerful than a negative thought. We know
nothing of self-pity. We find much value in the written
word. We have minds that are open to everything and
closed to nothing. We keep our bodies in tiptop condition
to the best of our abilities, and are thus mindful of
what we put into them. We appreciate moderation as being
the key to life. We wake up early each day full of
optimism, ready to have the best day of our lives. We do
not search for happiness, we create it. Our
accomplishments don’t make us happy, rather, we are happy
and we accomplish.
